Six Breakfast Smoothies for Weight Loss

The best time to have smoothies is breakfast as they contain loads of protein and fibre. These 6 healthy breakfast smoothies are my favourite go to on busy mornings. Also called breakfast drinks, weight loss smoothies, green smoothies or detox smoothies, there’s no better way to start the day then with a satisfying, extremely filling and yummy serving of blended fruits and vegetables

1. Green Detox Drink

Ingredients

  • 40 grams palak (spinach)
  • 25 grams methi (fenugreek)
  • 250 ml plain water
  • 1 date
  • 1 medium sized apple
  • 1/4 cup grapes
  • Small piece of ginger

Instructions

  • Wash and roughly chop the palak and methi
  • Take a pan and pour some water in it
  • Add the methi and palak in the pan
  • Cook on low heat for 2-3 mins and let it cool slightly
  • You can do this preparation a day prior as well
  • Take a blender and add all the ingredients
  • Blend nicely until smooth
  • Consume fresh

2. Green Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 80 grams palak (spinach)
  • Soy milk
  • 2 tbsp oats soaked overnight
  • 6 soaked almonds
  • 1 tsp peanut butter
  • 1 ½ dates
  • 1 banana

Instructions

  • Roughly chop the palak and put it in a pan
  • Add some water in the pan and steam the palak
  • Let the palak cool completely
  • You can prepare the palak a day prior as well
  • Add all the ingredients in a blender
  • Blend everything together until smooth
  • Consume the smoothie while it’s fresh

3. Apple and Carrot Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 steamed or raw carrot
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 scoop protein powder (optional)
  • 1 apple
  • Pure honey (optional)
  • 250 grams soy milk or coconut water
  • 1 tsp peanut butter

Instructions

  • Add everything in the blender and blender until it’s smooth
  • Cosume the smoothie while it’s fresh

4. Red Detox Drink

Ingredients

  • 1 steamed beetroot
  • Pulp of 1 orange
  • 1 carrot (raw / steamed)
  • 1 or 1 ½ dates
  • 1/4 cup pomegranate
  • Some cinnamon
  • 250 ml water

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients in the blender
  • Blend till the mixture becomes smooth
  • Drink while the smoothie is fresh

5. Hempseeds and Banana Breakfast Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 250 ml Hempseed milk (recipe is available in the description box)
  • 2 tbsp puffed amaranth / soaked quick oats
  • Pinch of cinnamon powder
  • 1 banana
  • 1 ½ tsp cocoa powder
  • 1 date
  • 1 ½ tsp almond powder

Instructions

  • Add all the ingredients in a blend
  • Blend nicely till all the ingredients become smooth
  • Consume the smoothie while it’s fresh
  • This smoothie is a high protein post workout smoothie

6. Beetroot and Carrot Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 beetroot
  • 1 carrot
  • 250 ml soy milk
  • 1 ½ dates or any other natural sweetner
  • 6 soaked almonds
  • 1 tsp peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp overnight soaked oats

Instructions

  • In a pan, add one beetroot and one carrot with some water
  • Reduce the heat and cook until soft
  • Once cooked let them cool completely
  • Add all the ingredients in a blender
  • Blender until the mixture becomes smooth
  • Consume the smoothie while it’s fresh
