Four Delicious Quick Oats Breakfast Recipes

Oats are among the healthiest grains on earth. They’re gluten free, whole grain and a great source of important vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants. Oats have a number of health benefits including weight loss, lower blood sugar levels and a reduced risk of heart disease. Oats help undo the damage done to skin by pollution, UV rays and chemicals. Oats are also helpful in reducing itching and inflammation. Oats are considered as one of the healthiest breakfast. However, having oats in the same old way might make it boring and difficult to consume on a daily basis. I have four amazingly delicious, different, interesting and nutritious oats vegetarian breakfast recipes for weight loss :

Summer Special Oats

Oats Vegetable Poha

Ingredients

  • Quick oats 3-4 tbsp
  • 1 cup (250 ml) water
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • Some curry leaves
  • 3-4 tbsp grated coconut (dry / fresh)
  • Small slice of chopped cucumber
  • Some chopped carrot and capsicum
  • 1 small chopped tomato
  • Freshly chopped coriander
  • Handful of roasted peanuts
  • 4-5 tsp curd
  • 1 tsp mint powder

Instructions

  • In a pan heat olive oil. Add cumin seeds, urad dal and some curry leaves.
  • Once all the ingredients are cooked add grated coconut. Cook until you start to see coconut turning light brown.
  • Now, add water, salt to taste and bring it to a boil.
  • Switch off the heat and let it cool slightly.
  • In a bowl add chopped cucumber, carrot, capsicum, tomato and freshly chopped coriander.
  • Add cooked oats mixture into the bowl.
  • Add roasted peanuts, beated curd and mint powder.
  • Mix everything

Palak Paneer Oats

Palak Paneer Oats

Ingredients

  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • 1 tomato
  • 3-4 tbsp quick oats
  • 1 cup (250 ml) water
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1 small onion
  • 40 grams sliced paneer (cottage cheese)
  • Salt
  • Spice mix 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  • In a grinder, add spinach and tomato to make a puree.
  • Now, heat olive oil in a pan.
  • Add garlic and chopped onion.
  • Once the onion are cooked, add the puree and cook slowly.
  • Add salt to taste, add 1/4 tsp spice mix.
  • Now, add the paneer and cook for a few more minutes.
  • Add some water and oats.
  • Let it cook for 3-4 minutes.

Your Palak Paneer Oats are now ready


Carrot and Walnut Oats

Ingredients

  • 3-4 tbsp oats
  • 2 grated carrots
  • 1 cup (250 ml) milk
  • 1 tbsp vermicelli
  • Handful of chopped onions
  • Some raisins
  • 1/2 tsp jaggery sugar / pure honey
  • Pinch of cinnamon / cardamom (optional)

Instructions

  • In a pan add grated carrots and cook them on low heat for a few minutes.
  • Add milk and bring it to a boil.
  • Now lower the heat and cook for a few more minutes.
  • Add handful of chopped walnuts and raisins.
  • Add 1 tbsp of vermicelli and bring everything to a boil again.
  • Once nicely cooked, add oats and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • Switch off the heat.
  • Add jaggery or honey if you feel like.
  • Mix everything.
  • For garnish, you can sprinkle some ground cinnamon or cardamom on top

Your Carrot and Walnut Oats are now ready


Oats Vegetable Poha

Ingredients

  • 3-4 tbsp quick oats
  • 1 tsp loive oil
  • 1 cup (250ml) water
  • 1 chopped carrot
  • 1/2 cup peas
  • Salt
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • Fresh coriander
  • Some roasted peanuts
  • Some grated coconut for garnish

Instructions

  • In a pan heat 1 tsp olive oil.
  • Add chopped onion.
  • Once cooked add vegetables.
  • Once the vegetables soften a little add water and bring to a boil.
  • Add all the spices.
  • Add quick oats and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • Switch off the heat.
  • Garnish with peanuts, grated coconut and fresh coriander.

Your Oats Vegetable Poha is now ready
