This lip balm should be applied daily especially at night, when you start to experience dry lips. Most of us get irritated by the products that have a lot of additives. Some of the common irritants are eucalyptus oil, camphor and menthol. One should be very cautious of using lip balms with a lot of additives. This article gives out simples recipes to make this lip balm at home with all natural products and without any component which is harmful.

Homemade 100% Natural Lip Balm / Gloss


  • 1 tbsp shea butter
  • Shea butter protects your lips from cold and dry weather
  • It’s loaded with vitamin F that keeps your skin hydrated, soft and elastic
  • Shea butter also heals your skin and acts as a natural sun block
  • 1 tbsp castor oil
  • Castor oil contains 80-90% ricinoleic acid and vitamin E
  • It helps in skin tightening and prevents dryness
  • Castor oil is known to maintain the skin fluidity level at extreme temperatures
  • 1 tbsp beeswax
  • Beeswax adds a protective layer and acts as a moisturiser
  • Contains natural emulsifiers which help lock moisture in the skin
  • 1 tbsp almond oil
  • Almond oil rejuvenates lips and helps clear dead cells
  • It is very high in anti aging properties and emollient properties
  • Homemade beet root powder
  • Beetroot powder acts as a exfoliating agent
  • Use concentrated juice instead of deep colour


  • Grease your grater nicely to grate beeswax
  • You can pack the balance beeswax in a butter paper
  • Use 1 tbsp beeswax which is roughly 15 grams
  • Take a bowl, add 1 tbsp beeswax
  • Add 1 tbsp castor oil
  • Add 1 tbsp almond oil / pure coconut oil
  • Add 1 tbsp pure shea butter
  • Mix everything very well
  • Prepare a double boiler (keeping the glass bowl directly on gas might crack it)
  • Place the bowl with mixture in it
  • Once the mixture is nicely melted, remove it from the boiler
  • Let it cool for 1-2 minutes
  • Transfer the mixture in a small clean bottle
  • You can also add the beet root powder in the mixture

Homemade 100% Natural Lip Exfoliator


  • 3-4 tsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp beetroot powder for natural colour
  • Crushed dried rose petals


  • Take a small jar
  • Add 3-4 tsp granulated sugar
  • Add 1 tsp beetroot powder
  • Add crushed dried rose petals
  • Store the mixture in a jar

Your Homemade 100% Natural Lip Exfoliator is now ready. Use it at bedtime, 2-3 times in a week
You can also add a pinch of any oil based natural colour or lipstick to make a coloured lip gloss for special events!
