September Weight Loss Challenge : No More Belly Fat

Hello everyone, hope all of you are doing well and are keeping healthy and happy. The biggest problem for people trying to lose weight is the area around the waist. Even though they shed kilos from other areas, achieving a slimmer waist is generally a daunting task. In our September weight loss challenge, we follow diet, workout and other strategies which will help you tackle the area around your waist.


  • We will be concentrating on a wholesome diet
  • However the concentration will be on single / one ingredient diet


  • Staying hydrated is of paramount importance
  • Keep drinking fluids to stay hydrated at all times

Intermittent Fasting

  • We’ll continue with intermittent fasting in this month
  • The fasting window depending on your comfort can vary from 12 – 15 hours
  • In the eating window,  make sure you have 5 – 6 small and moderate meals

Zero processed or packaged food

  • This month we’re going to be very strict on processed and packaged food
  • For the entire month, we’ll have no processed or packaged food
  • This challenge will be followed without any exception

No white Sugar or White Flour (Maida)

  • For the entire month of September, we’ll have no white sugar or white flour
  • Instead of white sugar, we’ll use natural sweetners to make desserts at home
  • You can use jaggery, khand, coconut sugar or honey as the natural ingredients

Become a label reader

  • Educate yourself to read the labels on food items
  • Understanding these labels is very important
  • Avoid excess of maida, sugar, transfat
  • Any unknown ingredient in the food should be scrutinised

Front loading method of eating

  • Follow the front loading method of eating
  • Follow the sequence of vegetables – protein – carbs

Take care of your mental health

  • Write about your mood and stress levels daily
  • Doing this will make you understand the reasons of stress in your body and mind
  • Try to understand what caused the increased levels of stress and how can you remove it
  • Use words to describe happy, tense, angry, subtle, anxious, delighted, fun etc

Social media detox

  • Ensure that you observe atleast five hours of daily social media detox
  • Be ruthless with yourself in this regard
  • You will realise an immediate change in the amount of time to soend taking care of yourself

Mindful eating

  • Pay more attention to what you eat
  • Don’t sit in front of the tv and eat
  • Mindful eating results in proper digestion and absorption of food
  • Make sure you chew your food properly
  • Eat without any distractions
  • Eat slowly
  • Use all your senses while you eat


  • Pay attention to your posture


  • Make sure you cover the mandatory 10,000 steps everyday
  • Try to include strength training in your schedule daily
  • If your schedule gets busy, try to include atleast 10 minutes of strength training everyday

Stay Active

  • I’m sure by now, you have realised the importance of staying active
    • Stay active the entire day
    • Make time for fitness     
    • Prepare a time blocking calender for yourself

Good Sleep Challenge

  • After a day’s hard work, it is imperative to get a goodnight’s sleep
    • Make sure you get alleast 7 – 8 hours of sleep daily
    • Keep your sleep curfew to 2230 hours
    • Make sure that after 2130 hours you are not using any electronic gadgets
