Morning Habits That Transformed My Life

Mornings are the most important time of the day. With minimal distractions, you can be really productive in the morning hours. You can further increase your productivity in the mornings if you have some fixed habits which you follow. A healthy morning routine is definitely the backbone of anyone’s self care practice that includes staying healthy and lose weight. Cementing some of these morning habits can help you prioritise your mental and physical health throughout the day.

Getting up early

  • Getting up early has a number of advantages
  • Apart from the calm and quiet, mornings can be really productive
  • I wake up at 0500 hours everyday
  • Apart from finishing my morning routine, my quiet and early mornings also allow me to concentrate on my work and finish it in time to give adequate attention to my family
  • Getting up early is just the beginning, you need to prioritize you time even after you wake up on time

Oil pulling

  • Our body is a wonderfully working well oiled machine
  • Throughout the night, it takes out harmful toxins out of our body
  • You can feel the toxins in the morning with breath and acidic outflow from the body
  • One habit which helps me get rid of these toxins in the morning is oil pulling
  • I do oil pulling with cold pressed coconut oil
  • This cold pressed coconut oil pulls out the harmful overnight toxins from my mouth
  • I follow this up with rinsing my mouth with salt water
  • It is a very simple method to remove bacteria and promote oral hygiene
  • This practice is even associated with ayurveda, the traditional medicinal system from India

Eating the frog in the morning

  • One of worst things that kills productivity is procrastinating
  • I believe very strongly in the methodology of finishing the hardest task fastest
  • 0530 to 0745 hours are my eating the frog time
  • I concentrate on my most difficult tasks for the day at this time
  • Finishing these tricky tasks provide me with the calmness I need for the rest of the day
  • I get the momentum and a sense of achievement at the beginning of the day

My morning juice

  • Taking my morning juice helps me rejuvenate and feel fresh
  • All these healthy morning juices are great for detoxification
  • These provide a lot of impetus to your overall health as well
  • Along with my morning juice, I also eat my pre workout snack at around 0800 hours
  • This includes one serving of any seasonal fruit like water melon, small banana, apple etc

Morning workout

  • Waking up early in the morning provides me an ideal window of time to carry out my workouts in the mornings
  • I workout with my coach from 0830 to 0930 hours in the morning
  • Workout should form an integral part of your routine
  • Apart from staying fit and healthy, it also ensures that mentally you’re in a good space for the rest of the day

  • Breakfast is the most important meal of the day
  • This is something I truly believe in

  • My breakfast is a mix of recipes from all over India, these recipes are simple to make yet are wholesome and tasteful at the same time
  • Ensure that you prepare for your breakfast the night before to avoid rushing in the mornings
