Delicious And Healthy Snack Recipes

Here are five delicious and yet very healthy snack recipes. All these snacks are ready to eat and should be substituted in place of the unhealthy processed snacks which we tend to munch on.

Oats energy bars

Ingredients

  • Rolled oats
  • Dates
  • Peanut butter

Instructions

  • In a pan, dry roast oats on low heat
  • Stir occasionally to avoid burns on one side
  • Once they are evenly brown on all sides, switch off the heat
  • Let them cool down at the room temperature
  • Use a mixer blender
  • Transfer oats dates powder in a large bowl
  • Add dry roasted oats and dates in a blender
  • Now gradually add peanut butter into the mixture
  • Transfer the mixture on a tray with butter paper
  • Spread the mixture well and press it with hands
  • Keep it in the fridge to set for minimum 1 to 3 hours

Peanut Choclate Bites

Ingredients

  • Jaggery
  • Roasted sesame seeds
  • Coffee
  • Cocoa powder
  • Dark choclate
  • Raosted peanuts
  • Some ghee  / coconut oil

Instructions

  • In a pan, add a tsp of water
  • Add crushed jaggery into the pan, add roasted sesame seeds
  • Melt jaggery on low to medium heat
  • When the jaggery is melted, add coffee, cocoa powder and dark choclate
  • Once the mixture is melted, add roasted peanuts and coat the peanuts into the mixture
  • Transfer the mixture on a tray with some ghee applied on it
  • Cool it slightly
  • Apply some ghee or oil on your hands as well
  • Take small parts of the mixture and make bites

Sabudana tikki

Ingredients

  • Sabudana
  • Boiled potatoes
  • Curry leaves
  • Capsicum
  • Grated carrots
  • Chia seeds
  • Peanuts
  • Almond mixture
  • Salt, black pepper powder and dried mint

Instructions

  • Soak sabudana for atleast three hours to overnight
  • In a mixing bowl, add soaked sabudana
  • Add boiled potatoes
  • Mix using both hands
  • Once done, add curry leaves, capsicum, grated carrots, chia seeds, peanuts and almond mixture
  • Now add salt to taste, black pepper powder, dried mint and oregano
  • Mix everything together to get a dough like consistency
  • Take a small portion and roll it with hands
  • In  a cast iron pan, add 2 tbsp oil for sauteing
  • Place tikki and cook from both sides until the tikkis turn golden brown
  • Serve these with your favourite chuyney as a snack

High protein energy bars

Ingredients

  • Desi ghee
  • Qniuoa flakes
  • Puffed amaranth
  • Some raisins
  • Coconut powder

Instructions

  • In a pan, heat desi ghee
  • Add quinoa flakes and roast them until they are slightly brown
  • Once the quinoa flakes are almost roasted, add puffed amaranth to the pan
  • Add raisins to the pan and mix well
  • Add coconut powder to the pan and mix well
  • Switch off the heat when coconut starts to turn slightly brown
  • Add the roasted mixture into a large bowl
  • Mix peanut butter with the roasted mixture
  • Gradually add some honey to the mixture
  • Apply some ghee on your palm, take small portion of the mixture and make the desired shape out of it
  • Once done, keep it in the fridge for minimum 2 to 6 hours

Paneer bread roll

Ingredients

  • Paneer
  • Boiled potatoes
  • Chopped tomatoes and coriander
  • Salt to taste and other spices
  • Some milk and water

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mash paneer using a fork / hands
  • Add mashed potatoes and mash it well
  • Add chopped tomatoes and coriander
  • Add salt to taste and other spices
  • Mix everything well and keep aside
  • Take a plate and mix some milk and add some water to it
  • Now we’ll make the rolls
  • Take a bread, dip it into the milk and water mixture
  • Using finger and your hands, squeeze out the excess liquid
  • Take one to two tsp of the paneer filling and place it in the centre
  • Turn the corners and bind them together to make a round ball
  • Now place appe tawa on heat
  • Add little oil in each cavity
  • Place the bread rolls in the cavity and reduce heat
  • Cook from all sides on low heat until they turn golden brown
  • Keep rotating and changing sides so that they are evenly cooked from all sides
  • Serve these with your favorite chutney
