What I Eat On A Detox Day

We often feel heavy, bloated, indigested and low on energy, therefore it is important to cleanse our system and treat it with some alkaline food. I detox on one a week and it allows me to regain my energy along with a big boost to my system. My diet is very simple to follow and it also supports you in the weight loss process. Our body is quite capable to natural detox, however, we must support and improve that function by giving our digestive system a break and by nourshing it with food rich in antioxidants.

Starting my day

  • I start my day with 2-3 glasses of water
  • I usually have my water around 0500 hours
  • These 2-3 glasses of water help me kick start my system along with providing me with the much needed hydration

Morning drink

  • Water is followed by my morning drink
  • Right now my morning drink is wild amla juice
  • I consume this morning drink with a glass of water
  • I take this morning drink at around 0700 hours


  • My breakfast on this detox day consists of watermelon
  • I consume about 1.5 cups of watermelon
  • I have my breakfast at 0930 hours
  • This 1.5 cups of watermelon consists of 70 calories

Detox tea

  • My breakfast is followed is barley detox tea
  • This is my summer special detox tea
  • I consume this tea at 1030 hours

Mid morning meal

  • My mid morning meal consists of carrot and beetroot juice with honey, pink salt and cinnamon
  • The timing for this mid day meal is 1200 hours
  • This meal consists of about 82 calories


  • My lunch on the detox day is pumpkin and tomato mix vegetable stew
  • Lunch is usually arounf 1345 hours
  • It consists of 160 calories

Herbal tea

  • My lunch is followed by herbal tea
  • This herbal tea is a simple ginger tea
  • I consume this tea at around 1430 hours


  • My snacks are very simple
  • They consist of fresh coconut water
  • The fresh coconut water has 37 calories
  • The second snack is 1-2 dates
  • The dates has about 45 calories
