Preparation
- Make yourself comfortable and sit with your legs folded
- On both hands, touch your index finger to the thumb
- Keep both the hands on your thighs
- Now breathe in through your nose taking deep breaths
- Exhale through the mouth
- Do this for 2-3 minutes
- After 2-3 minutes, rub your hands together and place them on your face
Abdominal breathing
- Sitting in the same posture, fold your hands together
- After making yourself comfortable, open your hands, placing one hand on the chest and other on the belly
- You don’t need to press with your hands, just place your hands to observe the movement
- Inhale deep through nose
- Exhale through the mouth
- Make sure your pace of breathing is comfortable

Bhastrika Pranayam
- Keep your hands on your thighs
- In this exercise, you have to carry out fast inhale and exhale
- While doing this, feel the air in your chest
- Don’t lift the shoulders too much, lift your chest instead
- Do this atleast 20-30 times
- This exercise oxygenates the blood increasing the vitality of all organs and tissues
- It will open all the blockages in your nose and lungs
- After this carry out normal breathing for sometime
- You can carry out this exercise by raising your hands upwards as well
- Raise your hands upwards during inhale and push / get them down with force during exhale
Nadi Shodhan Pranayam
- This practice can be done by kids / adults at morning, afternoon or evening
- This exercise increases the strength in your lungs and keeps it away from diseases
- It enhances the capacity of your lungs as well
- It also improves your concentration, spiritual power and memory as well
- Take right hand in chin mudra like the first exercise and keep it on your thigh
- With your right hand, open the hand and fold the index and middle fingers
- Now place your thumb on the right nostril, breath in through the left nostril
- Now close your left nostril and exhale through the right nostril
- This exercise will open all the blockages of your nostrils
- Keep doing this for 5-10 minutes
Bhramri Pranayam
- This exercise helps reduce anxiety, stress and nourishes the neurons in the body
- You are able to release all the toxins through your nostrils
- We inhale and exhale through the nostrils
- With both the thumbs, close the ears and place the fingers on your head
- You can take out Om sound while exhaling
- You can continue this exercise for 5-7 rounds
- Now release your hands and relax
- You can carry out the first exercise while lying down as well
