August Weight Loss Challenge

Hello everyone, hope you’re all doing good and are keeping happy and healthy. It’s time to step it up. This is the article for the August weight loss challenge. This article includes weight loss, diet and lifestyle strategies to set daily goals and daily tasks to complete. This month is the toughest weight loss challenge of this year so far. This challenge will motivate you to work even harder to achieve your fitness goals.

Diet Challenge

  • The diet challenge this month includes the following

Zero processed or packaged food

  • This month we’re going to be very strict on processed and packaged food
  • For the entire month, we’ll have no processed or packaged food
  • This challenge will be followed without any exception

No white Sugar or White Flour (Maida)

  • For the entire month of August, we’ll have no white sugar or white flour that is maida
  • Instead of white sugar, we’ll use natural sweetners to make desserts at home
  • You can use jaggery, khand, coconut sugar or honey as the natural ingredients

Follow the PFF Plating method

  • For the entire month of August, we’ll follow the PFF method of plating
  • PFF method of plating includes Protein, Fiber and Healthy Fat
  • In every major meal you have, you will include these three in your diet

Intermittent Fasting

  • We’ll continue with intermittent fasting in this month
  • The fasting window depending on your comfort can vary from 12 – 15 hours
  • In the eating window,  make sure you have 5 – 6 small and moderate meals

Lots of Vegetables in the diet

  • Make sure you include atleast six vegetables in your diet daily
  • These vegetables will provide the required nutrition to the body

Fruits and Water

  • Fruits and water will be important in the diet just like the earlier months
  • Make sure you have 1 – 2 servings of fruits in your diet daily
  • Also make sure that you have 8 – 10 glasses of water daily

Activity Challenge

Training

  • Make sure you cover the mandatory 10,000 steps everyday
  • Try to include strength training in your schedule daily
  • If your schedule gets busy, try to include atleast 10 minutes of strength training everyday

Stay Active

  • I’m sure by now, you have realised the importance of staying active
  • Stay active the entire day
  • Make time for fitness
  • Prepare a time blocking calender for yourself

Social Media Detox Challenge

  • Carry out social media detox daily for atleast five hours
  • The five hours do not have be continuous
  • But make sure you complete five hours in a day
  • Instead of being on your phone, read a book on health or nutrition

Mental Health Challenge

  • Meditate daily for atleast ten minutes
  • Spend five minutes daily lying on the floor with a relaxed body

Good Sleep Challenge

  • After a day’s hard work, it is imperative to get a goodnight’s sleep
  • Make sure you get alleast 7 – 8 hours of sleep daily
  • Keep your sleep curfew to 2230 hours
  • Make sure that after 2130 hours you are not using any electronic gadgets
